Vietnamese marinated pork steak

Ingredients

  • 4 lean pork loin steaks
  • 3 shallots, peeled and halved
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 stalk lemongrass, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar/brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Method

  1. 1.
    Place all ingredients in a food processor, excluding the pork. Process marinade until well combined.
  2. 2.
    Place lean pork loin flat on a chopping board. Using a sharp knife, slash each steak twice on each side.
  3. 3.
    Place the pork loin steaks in the marinade, for a minimum of 20 minutes.

General Information

Customer Cooking Instructions:

  1. Preheat a griddle pan for 1-2 minutes over a medium heat and brush griddle with a little oil.

  2. Place the pork steaks in the griddle pan and cook for 6 minutes, turn the steak and cook for a further 2 minutes.

  3. Remove steak from the pan and rest in a warm place for 2 minutes.

  4. Arrange the cooked Vietnamese pork loin steak onto a serving plate with steamed jasmine rice, greens, chilli & lime.

  5. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint, peanuts and fried shallots.


Hint: accompany with sweet chilli dipping sauce and fresh lettuce leaves
